For more than 25 years, I’ve been a summer camp director. I’ve spent my career creating programs that ignite curiosity, helping staff find their purpose, and watching thousands of campers grow into confident, capable humans. Camp is more than a job—it’s a calling, a lifestyle, and a community. It’s where I learned how to lead, how to listen, and how to solve problems with a flashlight, a walkie-talkie, and a budget that never quite made sense.
And if you’ve been in camping as long as I have, you know one truth: running a camp means wearing every hat imaginable.
